Saudia receives 35 Airbus 320s



Saudia has received last of the 35 Airbus 320 aircraft it had ordered from the world’s leading manufacturing company, as part of its efforts to modernize its fleet and meet the demand of its growing passengers.

The airline received the 35 A320s in a record time of 33 months after the airline received the first A320 on January 2, 2009.


Saudia has so far received 58 state-of-the-art aircraft from a total of 90 aircraft it ordered from Airbus and Boeing including 35 A320s, 15 A321s, 12 A330s, 20 Boeing 777-300ERs and eight Boeing 787 Dreamliners.


A320 as one of the most popular and efficient aircraft in the world powered by an advanced engine. The best-selling single-aisle product line, A320 continues to set industry standards for comfort and operating economy on short- to medium-haul routes.


A320s are available with two types of seating capacities with the first one having 20 seats for Business Class and 96 seats for Guest Class. There are 12 seats for Business Class and 120 for Guest Class in the second model.


Saudia’s fleet modernization plan aims at meeting its operational and marketing requirements and confronting regional and international competition.
