SAUDIA launches new routes: Multan and Port Sudan
SAUDIA will add two destinations, Multan and Port Sudan, to its international network this year to better service the growing volume of passenger traffic. These two new destinations will both be launched in April 2017.
Multan will be the fifth destination to Pakistan in addition to Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. From April 1st 2017 four weekly-scheduled flights will be operated to Multan on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday by B777-200ER. In addition to Khartoum, Port Sudan will be the second destination to Sudan. From April 6th 2017 three weekly-scheduled flights will be operated on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday by A320.
30 Aircraft to Join SAUDIA Fleet in 2017
SAUDIA has announced its fleet plan for 2017 which is a part of the main strategic plan aimed at modernized and doubling the fleet to 200 aircraft by 2020. In this context, a number of agreements were signed during 2015 and 2016 to acquire 113 of the most sophisticated aircraft in the world.
2017 will witness the arrival of 30 new aircraft, including: (7) B787-9 Dreamliner, (5) B777- 300ER equipped with first suites, (10) A330-300R, and (8) A320ceo, stressing that modernization the fleet includes a huge increase in seat capacity on domestic sector, launching new international destinations while developing the product and improving services.
As part of the plan SAUDIA will retire (18) aircraft, the remaining aircraft from B777-200 fleet, and will be compensated by the modern aircraft that are being received. During 2016, (19) aircraft have been retired, include: (4) B747-400 and (15) Embraer planes.
Saudia fleet are reduced to 5.87 years and will be further reduce to less than 4 years, making it one of the youngest in the sky.
SAUDIA Wins Best Kids Travel Packs Award
SAUDIA scored a resounding success by winning the Sterling Fun award for the best kids travel packs provided by the Canadian website Tillywig which is specialized in evaluating superior children’s products.
In its official website, Tillywig lauded the creative design of the packs which contain assorted goodies – an activity book, a box of colored pencils, a children’s wallet, a wonderfully compact toothbrush / toothpaste kit with plastic cover, and an eye-mask. The website also commended the activity book which is loaded with fun and games, including coloring activities, number puzzles, mazes, dot-to-dot and electrostatic stickers kids can use to make their own stories. Moreover, Tillywig praised the flexible design of the lightweight, zippered backpack which has plenty of room for storing additional belongings so that all the child’s play and travel essentials can be easily accessible in one place.

On Time Award by “FlightStats”
SAUDIA has been awarded 2nd place for on time performance by FlightStats. As a leader in flight data services FlightStats, part of FlightGlobal, is in a unique position to be able to provide an in-depth view into how airlines are performing globally. For the past eight years they have been recognizing airlines with their On-time Performance Services (OPS) Awards acknowledging the “Best of the Best”. The FlightStats OPS Awards recognizes airlines around the world that deliver the highest percentage of flights to their arrival gates within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival time. To determine the finalists and winners, FlightStats examines flight status and arrival data aggregated from global sources including civil aviation authorities, airlines, airports, and major airline reservation systems.
SAUDIA was second among other major airlines from the Middle East and Africa regions. It includes 8 mainline carriers and 7 network carriers that operated just nearly 1 million flights in 2016. The data tracking coverage in this region was set to 85%. Where SAUDIA scored 79%.

In order to make your boarding experience as smooth and efficient as possible, SAUDIAhas introduced a new process and will now board the aircraft in zones. Please listen for your zone number and board when your zone number has been called.

Frequent flyer, Special needs, Unaccompanied minors)
General boarding - rear section of the aircraft
General boarding - front section of the aircraft

Travel Health Requirements
Every year, over one billion people travel by air safely and on time. There are some however who due to illness result in complications and delays because they are unaware of their suitability to fly. If a passenger becomes ill onboard a flight the impact on fellow passengers, crew, SAUDIA and airports is considerable, affecting flight schedules, crew eligibility to fly as well as general inconvenience to passengers. In order to ensure that you are safe to travel, it is always advisable to consult with your doctor if you or anyone travelling with you feels unwell or are recovering from injury, sickness or any medical condition.
All SAUDIA flights are equipped with doctor emergency kits as well as non-doctor tools for the treatment of unwell passengers onboard but the best prevention of a problem onboard is to know when it is safe to travel. In order to help passengers recognize their fitness to fly SAUDIA staff have been issued with guidelines to identify a passenger’s suitability to fly and what requirements such as a SAUDIA Travel Clearance Form will need to be provided prior to boarding. If you planning to travel and are unsure if your medical situation is going to be an issue it is advisable to obtain a medical travel clearance document from your doctor and also contact SAUDIA before you fly.
